First Meeting

The first meeting will also include discussions on:

1. Time line for launching your website
2. Your logo, colors, images etc
3. Number of pages anticipated
4. Domain Name, (URL)
5. Standard for email address
6. Budget
7. Questions

Layout & Design

With the information we gathered at the first meeting, we will create some sample layouts for you to review. We typically provide three different layouts. The layouts will be posted on a test site for your review, at that time we request that you provide us with as much feedback as possible, we will revise the layouts based on your comments.

To get to the final approved layout, this process may require addtional meetings or email communication.

Once we have completed all of the layout revisions, and final approval from you has been received, we will send you a contract for services and we require the signed contract back prior to the work starting.

The contract for services will include time-frames for creating the website through to launching plus a quote for our services. Depending on the size of the website, we may request half payment up front. Site creation will start once we have received a signed contract back from you and half payment if requested.

Site Creation

Based on the final approved layout for your website, we will start designing your website. you will be provide with a URL to view the website pages as they are created and updated. We will upload all new pages and any changed pages at the end of a business day, we will also send you an email to advise you that the updated and new pages are ready for your review.

All content and images for the website are provided by you the client. As we receive this information from you we will add it to the appropriate webpage. Content is all text and images.

We can source out images if requested for your website, there will be an additional cost for this service as well as any costs to purchase images.

Updates

As a business owner myself, I am always wanting to know "how are things going?" when I hire someone to do some work for me.

As we work through the design, creation and setup of your website we will be in regular contact with you.

Registration

During our initial meeting we discussed possible Domain Names for your website. It is now time to purchase the Domain Name that you have chosen if you haven't done so already.

When selecting your Domain Name, in the modern world of the Internet, where people automatically turn to the Web for information, it pays to have a domain name that reflects your site or business. There are just fewer things for your customers or visitors to remember.

And you don't seriously think that they'll try to memorise an unrelated URL just because you want them to, do you? The only people who'll memorise it are you and your competitors.

Hosting

You will need to select a hosting company that suites your website needs.

We can provide you with information on hosting firms and what to look for so you make a good choice.

Blue Water Web Designs is hosted at Netfirms and the websites that I have created, are hosted with Netfirms, click on Netfirms to the right and learn about their offerings; purchasing your Domain Name and their various hosting packages.

Setup

The final step for us is to upload your new website to the hosting company you have selected and we will also setup the email addresses that you require.

Final Meeting

After the website has been launched, this meeting will determine if there are any MINOR adjustments that need to be made to the website.

You will at that time receive a printed copy of the invoice and payment is due upon receipt.
